First Day of 1st Grade!

I let Hayden choose his breakfast this morning, he chose blueberry pancakes. He hardly ate any of them, he said his stomach hurt, I think he was a little nervous!
Hayden set out his clothes on Thursday for the first day. He was so excited to finally get a pair of Sketchers - Z straps and so he chose the perfect clothes to go with them. He also decided to wear his church glasses because he had to look extra nice!
What a ham!

The "nice" pose for Mom

So proud!

Dad walking Hayden to the playground, Hayden was a little embarrassed to hold his hand, check out the hands closely!

Hayden is starting at a new school this year which is making me extra nervous for him. One of his friends, KC, is also attending this school but they're not in the same class. They were a little sad but found each other right away when they got to the playground!

And he's off, headed in with the rest of the class. I'll update later on his first day! Now if only I could get Brynley to be a little more independent, she has been "needing" me ALL day, I haven't been able to get anything done!

Hayden's "Special" Dinner

Last year before Hayden started Kindergarten, we decided we wanted to make the night before school starts special for the kids. This year we let Hayden choose the entire meal and we served it on "real" plates (instead of kid plates) and had "real" glasses for them to drink out of. Hayden felt like a king last night and said it was his special day!
Hayden and Brynley waiting for dinner to be served

Hayden's meal choice was grilled steak and shrimp, baked potatoes with bacon, broccoli (no cheese sauce), rolls, and jello. The drink he chose was rootbeer followed by cookies and rootbeer float ice cream. Hayden insisted that he have his own stick with shrimp on it!
Getting ready to eat

The remnants of Hayden's shrimp. I think he is getting messier with age. He had a big plate to eat on and he still managed to leave shrimp tails all over the table, nice. I must also mention that he ate about half of the tales, we always tell him not to eat them but he insists they taste really good!

More of our vacation...

While we were in Peoria the kids found many things to keep them amused. Zac was most thrilled with exploring all of the kitchen cabinets which were virtually empty. I'm not sure why he chose the smallest cabinet to spend most of his time in!
The pool was fantastic and actually felt cool. Our Aunt's pool and most others around here are quite warm and not very refreshing. Zac loved the beach entry, he would just crawl into it until he was almost drowning and drink the water and then come back, it was really cute.

Zac was so uncooperative when it came to picture taking!
Brynley's barely keeping her head above water!
Hayden probably went on the slide a couple hundred times while we were there. He went down just about every way humanly possible!
Brynley wasn't tall enough for the slide but they let her ride it if she wore floaties, she was thrilled!
If we weren't at the pool we were inside watching movies together or reading and coloring! We also went out to eat a lot and saw Ice Age 3, we all loved it!
Our last day was spent up in Prescott where we met Meredith and her kids, I'll post more about that later!

Walking Video!

A Little Video for anyone interested!

I'm a little amazed that he was hardly phased by Hayden running back and forth infront of him!

Our trip to... Peoria!

We decided to take a week and head up to Peoria (it's only an hour away but who cares right?). It was close enough that Andy and I could go up and spend two nights alone (thanks a ton Meredith) then we could go get the kids and bring them back up with us. We stayed in a great resort called Cibola Vista. There was plenty of room for all of us to stay comfortably and there was a kitchen which is always nice with the whole family. Our room was right by the pool entrance so one of us could take the kids swimming while the other stayed in while Zac napped.
The first night with the kids we took them to Rubio's. It was Taco Tuesday after all, which meant the fish tacos were super cheap. I was amazed at how well they ate them. Hayden ate two tacos on his own while Zac even ate all of the fish out of one taco. They have been asking to go back ever since, I think we can accommodate that request! We fed the whole family for 12 dollars and that included a huge pile of Guac and chips! Not to mention 3 free churros, yum!

After Rubio's we headed to Color Me Mine for some pottery painting. Brynley painted a cute fat dog while Hayden painted a surf board to match his room. The kids had a lot of fun and loved picking up their creations when they were done.
More on the trip to follow...

15 Months - And finally walking!

Our little Zachar Man had his 15 month appointment yesterday. Here are his stats:
22 lbs. Even - 13th percentile
31 inches long - 60th percentile

This means Zac has gained 3 pounds since surgery, 5 weeks ago. This is amazing for him and I am so happy and proud of my little boy! He has gone from the 3rd percentile in Weight and the 20th percentile for height to the current stats above. He is also walking... He has been taking steps between Andy and I for about the last week but now he will venture off on his own. It is so stinkin cute, he leads with his right foot so he walks very crooked and sometimes in a full circle. He has got a great appetite and will eat anything now - well still not many fruits and veggies but he's getting better. For so long he has hated eating and now he loves it! He has not vomited even once since surgery and he has had no constipation, we haven't had to give him his constipation meds at all!
Zac also got his first haircut - long story short I was going to use the clippers with a super long attachment to still keep some length but the clippers died so I had to use scissors and let's just say the bangs are a huge embarrassment. Andy said he looks like Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber. It's really sad but his hair was getting so long I couldn't do a mohawk anymore and it looked lame to slick it to the side. So now I don't know what to do. I think if I just do a mohawk everyday for awhile the hair will grow out a bit. The back of his hair looks great however!

He dug the sucker for sure!

This is Zac every time he wants me or something from me. I post this to give you all a good look at the terrible bangs.

Walking down the hall

Walking in the family room. He pretty much fell every time he noticed the camera so this is the best I could get.

Seriously Behind...

Andy let me know last night how behind I am with my blogging. It makes me sad... I have been gone for almost 3 solid weeks so I will give myself a little break. However that doesn't help the fact that I still haven't blogged about My B-day or Bryn's B-day (From February) or Hayden's end of the year program and T-ball (From May) or 4th of July and the rest of the month of July... I have a long list of blog topics filling my memo board, maybe I'll get some of them done soon... hopefully.
